Digital Bathymetric Data Base - Variable Resolution (DBDB-V) 27-May-98: MIL-PRF-0089012A (NIMA) World Vector Shoreline (WVSPLUS®) 24-Aug-99: MIL-PRF-89014A.Interim Terrain Data (ITD)/Planning Interim Terrain Data.Interim Terrain Data/Planning Interim Terrain Data (ITD/PITD) Amendment 1.

Question: what data have we replaced in the base package with DAFIFT

If it exists on your system the FalconView 3.3.1 DAFIF ATS Patch application will be found automatically. Notice that after you select FalconView 3.3.1 DAFIF ATS Patch in the list of programs, the following data regarding the program is available to you: Safety rating (in the lower left corner). The Digital Aeronautical Flight Information File (or DAFIF) is a set of files that contain data on airports, navaids, waypoints, special use airspace and other facts relevant to flying in the entire world. derived versions?
I'm looking at the airport generation utility, and have a basic scheme
worked out which will allow me to nail the runway end elevation and GS
transmitter elevations close to exactly.
However, our GS elevation data appears to list the generic field
elevation, not the actual GS elevation, and we don't have in our FG
derived data, any of the surveyed runway end elevation data.
If we could get both of these extracted out somehow, even in a
separate look aside file, I could proceed with my scheme.
Right now, inaccurate GS elevation data + innaccurate field/runway
elevations are causing our ILS GS approaches to bring us in too high
or two low depending on which way the data is in error. The errors
can be up to 100-200 feet which can make a big difference in hitting
or missing the desired touch down point.
One option would be to fake the GS elevation and force it to whatever

the ground level is, but I'd like to get this right since the data is
floating around out there.
Would anyone want to help out with the data processing side of this
problem?

National Geospatial Intelligence Agency(NGA), and is primarily developed for the benefit of militaryaeronautical operations, but was made available to the generalpublic.

Except for the United States, which is also covered by data provided bythe FAA, it is usually the ONLY comprehensive digital data available forpilots. Other countries either don't provide digital data at all, or theydo it through a proprietary web interface or in non-reusable formats (likePDF files of scans of paper documents). Even within the US, there is datathat is available in the DAFIF which is not in the FAA ATA-100 data CD. Forinstance, the navaid.com database generators use the DAFIF data to findICAO identifiers for airports in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and otherplaces where there 3 letter FAA id is not enough data to generate the ICAOid.

It also has data on airspace boundaries and airways that is missing fromthe FAA data. Fs 15 game download for android apk.

While GPS and Electronic Flight Bag manufacturers can afford to licenseexpensive proprietary data from Jeppesen to cover their areas of interest, for the free or nearly-free software developer, and the thousands ofpilots who rely on our programs, DAFIF is the only choice.According to the explanationon the NGA Web site, the data is being withdrawn from publiccirculation because 'increased numbers of foreign source providers areclaiming intellectual property rights or are forewarning NGA that theyintend to copyright their source.' According to one private communicationI received from the DAFIF program manager, they are doing this 'becausethe Australian AIP producers are suing Jeppesen for copyrightinfringement', and rather than waiting to see if the AIP producers wintheir case and then turn their attention to DAFIF, they are beingpro-active, or looking at it another way, they are taking the easy wayout. The NGA is going to restrict access to their data so that only legitimateUS State and Federal government agencies and their contractors may accessthe data. The rest of us will be out in the cold, and will not be able toget updated data any longer.

I do not know yet if NGA intends to tell people using old versions ofDAFIF data that they will have to stop using it. I consider it a distinctpossibility.Nothing. It's on its last legs, and will be gone within the year. The NGA has just released their decision, and according to theirpress release, 'the electronic distribution of DAFIF over the WorldWide Web (www) and public sale of NGA FLIP outside US airspace will ceasein October 2006'. We're screwed.I have set up a Wiki todiscuss the design of a collaborative project to allow we, the users ofthe data, to maintain it in the future. Please feel free to register andgive us your input.
